No. 1: Use the right image. “A great image can reduce the amount of text needed to get your message across as well as make a lasting impression of potential clients,” noted Adams. Added Sonne, “A great graphic with your contact info and slogan is the most effective. Make sure you are consistent in your look across all branding.”

No. 2: Use the right font. The font can make or break an ad. “Overly intricate fonts maybe difficult to read from ten feet away,” noted Adams. “Coupling fonts is also a way to create design interest.”

No. 3: Create an eye-catching, short tagline. “The most effective taglines are seven words or less,” stated Sonne. “Keep in mind that the tagline should embody everything you intend to achieve and deliver, as well as how you will remain true to your promise.”

No. 4: Use negative space. This is an important element in any design. “Be sure your brand and message are clear and not buried in a lot of information,” added Adams.

No. 5: Always use the same logo. “We all know what the Golden Arches represent. You never see a different logo on anything they do,” concluded Sonne. “Shopping carts are a great constant reminder to let new and old clients know you are there to help. It's great to let everyone push you around.”
